My floral career began in the first grade. I entered a small arrangement of flowers from our garden in my school flower show, and I won a blue ribbon! Needless to say, I was hooked. However, I have taken a few detours along the road to making floral design my career as well as my passion.
After graduating from Stanford with a degree in English, I worked for many years as a paralegal. As stress relief, I began to do floral design for friends and family, and eventually my work was noticed by an employee of the San Francisco Symphony. I began my professional career in 1988 working for the Symphony, preparing welcoming bouquets for visiting conductors and musicians. They are still my client today!
My business has continued to expand, through my many contacts in the world of the arts and the hospitality industry. I am pleased to be recommended by many top-quality event professionals - photographers, wedding planners, caterers, DJ's and pastry chefs - as well as the premier event sites in the Bay Area.
As a hobby, I appear on stage as a non-singing extra (called a "supernumerary") in the San Francisco Opera. I have appeared in over 40 productions since 1988, and the experience of working with the finest stage designers and directors has taught me a great deal about effective ways to make the most out of any space!
My years of experience allow me to guide my clients in dealing with the particular needs of their event, working with their vision to create a memorable occasion. Each client receives personal attention, and my designs are created based on each individual's taste, budget, and the unique characteristics of their locations.
